The scientific definition of assembly work that is used in the pertinent trade literature was provided by Georg Krämer, a graduate with a degree in wood science (Diplom-Holzwirt) from Baden-Württemberg, in 2001: »Assembly work is the installation of components fabricated in-house or by third parties in a specific object. It includes the adaptation to the structural conditions on site and any occurring ancillary works.«
